Gimme Shelter for Under $20
My brother is studying at NSCAD University in Halifax, NS and one of their recent projects involved designing an emergency shelter that could be produced for under $20. CBC Halifax produced a brief piece on the project and are hosting it on their site (under Wednesday, April 12, 2006), but it’s only available as a streaming .ram file (RealNetworks, oh joy!).
I wanted to see it so I (reluctantly) downloaded the RealPlayer and installed it on my PowerBook. In the back of my mind I had hopes that it wouldn’t be too bad, that perhaps I had let my impression of a product get the best of me and that I would be proved wrong. Well, to make a long (expletive-filled) story short, I’ve uninstalled RealPlayer and posted a recording of the video at YouTube:
At first, I had some reservations about posting content that didn’t belong to me, but then I came across this article on the CBC website. Although this video wouldn’t be considered viral, I’m posting it in a similar spirit.
