Canadian Military Involved in Covert Mission

Our subs may be burning and our jeeps may be inadequate, but that didn’t stop the Canadian Armed Forces from completing a high-stakes mission this past summer. On July 13th, members of the Canadian Rangers visited Hans Islands and removed 2 Danish flags—without firing a single round!

The operation, codenamed Exercise Frozen Beaver, also went unnoticed by the local news media (which is incredible on an island that is only 1.3 km in area).

Forget the Navy Seals, if Tom Clancy is looking for new material, maybe he should look to the Great White North.

  1. Just wait for the *good* of global warming, when the northwest passage opens to sea traffic and Hans Island becomes a major shipping port! Oh the times they’ll have: sailors coming ashore for whiskey pops, dancehall girls dressed in caribou hides lingering at the end of the piers. Awesome.

  2. Jason: Thank you very much for your recent link to our site.

Rest assured the story will be addressed in our next on line update - scheduled November 16th. The reason we have not bothered to remove our equally important current on line news headlines for this fabricated story is very simple - the truth. The truth behind so called Exercise Frozen Beaver will shortly be revealed exclusively on http://www.radiofreehansisland.com

BTW, James, there is no need to wait for global warming. Please check out the current Hans Island tourist info on our site.

    Cheers,

    Hans Hansmann,
General Manager, Radio Free Hans Island
