Virtual Events Via Podcasting

So, what have I been doing since getting sick? Well, I’ve been watching a bit of BSG, going to bed early and virtually attending ATypI Helsinki, the AIGA Design Conference and Web Essentials 2005 via their podcasts. Actually, last night I fell asleep listening to Stefan Sagmeister’s presentation on Design and Happiness (although, it wasn’t Stefan’s fault that I fell asleep).

Podcasting content from conferences is such great idea and has been going on for some time now, but it’s really starting to pick up speed. I would have loved to have attended these conferences, but that just wasn’t possible. Many presenters distribute their presentation slides, allowing a person to get a bit of an idea of what went on, but that is such a small part of the presentation itself. With the podcasts, especially those that provide the slides as well, it’s almost like being there.
