Inkbase

My last post finished with the final presentation of day 1, so I’ll continue with the rest of the events for that day, again in point form:

• After the sessions I went back to the hotel to change for a few events, a Web Standards Gathering, the Opening Party at Frog Design and the AMODA digital showcase.
• The Web Standards Gathering was good, I met a few people, but I seem to have spent most of my time watching the foosball tournament that was going on. I even shot some video.
• The party at Frog was pretty cool. It was in the first floor of their office, there were dancing girls, interactive rooms with face painting, electronic art, xbox, etc… The coolest part was the 12-piece latin band that was tucked onto a tiny little stage.
• After the Frog party I headed to Copa to check out the AMODA Digital Showcase and it was very cool. The bar was full of very interesting people doing all kinds of cool stuff. There were bands throughout the night (E*Rock was particularly interesting), digital art pieces here and there and lots of beer.
• Oh ya, on the way to AMODA, I met a fellow attendee who was a local photographer. Well, some guy gave us a tip that Dennis Quaid was just around the corner so we decided to check it out. Sure enough, he was hanging out with some girl in the front entrance of some club. She managed to get some paparazzi-style photos, but I didn’t even bother taking out my camera—I don’t think I can even name a Dennis Quaid movie.
• After AMODA I figured it would probably be a good idea to get some dinner, so I headed up to 6th and grabbed a couple slices of pizza. Pizza wouldn’t have been my first choice, but I was hungry and I could remember where it was.
